About Us
Music, culture and creativity have the power to transform communities. At Happenstance Projects, we harness that magic to imagine new possibilities and bring them to life.
Founded by creative producer and strategist Laura Harper, Happenstance Projects draws on more than 20 years experience across the arts, music, government, and cultural sectors — particularly in regional and remote Australia.
Our work is guided by following values:
Creativity - we centre art and the artist in strategy, programs and policy.
Courage - we work with complex problems and navigate change with purpose.
Collaboration - we work alongside artists, communities, and organisations to co-create lasting impact.
Care - We are committed to inclusive and sustainable practices that nurture both people and places.
How We Work
Happenstance Projects works independently and in collaboration with a trusted network of producers, researchers, artists and partner organisations. For projects of scale (from national summits to sector-wide strategies) we assemble the right team to match the vision and scope. This collaborative model keeps us agile, responsive and able to deliver ambitious projects with confidence and care.
